If you have ever read Bobb Biehl’s book, Master Planning, you know he describes 3 main personalities:  Designer, Developer and Maintainer.  Imagine them like Olympic rings that overlap so that you end up with 5 types.
  • The Designer is the one that likes to come up with the ideas.  ‘ hey, let’s start a…’
  • The Designer-Developer  is the one that likes to put bones and mucles together to make it look like a human.
  • The Developer loves those details and would put on the skin color and freckles, etc.
  • The Developer-Maintainer figures out how to keep the ball rolling and keep things up to date.
  • The Maintainer is the one that loves working at the Post Office for 20 years because of the variety!  The shapes of the envelopes, the handwriting, the variety of stamps!  You really need this person but oooooh, if you are a Designer-Developer how this would kill you!
